my clothes aren’t packed
but my yarn is finished, so that means I’m ready for vacation!
What do you think? Do you think it’s too much contrast for stranded gloves? I’ve decided on a pattern from Terri Shea’s Selbuvotter (I’m giving you a Ravelry link because my office has blocked Terri’s website for some reason and you can buy the book [...]
salad spinner
Yes, I’m turning into a kitchen accessory.
I finished the blue Romney for mittens. And now I’m not sure that I want to use it for mittens. It’s a bit scratchy, so I’m going to knit a swatch and carry it around and see if I think I would wear a pair of mittens from this [...]
tiger lilies
I think that’s what these are called. Or are they canna lilies?
Maybe I’ll call them tiger cannas. This is the first year they’ve bloomed.
They put a smile on my face this Friday morning. I hope they did yours as well!
Have a great weekend!
Random Thursday (now with pictures!)
1. How’d it get to be Thursday already?
2. I decided which socks to start.
Since this is a very generous hank of yarn (480 yds), I’m going to start a second sock from the center of the ball, knit until it’s as long as the first sock, and then go back and forth (maybe on one [...]
Why I don’t hike in the summertime

SB needed to hike a short distance for his next column (!!!) and I decided to tag along since it was only 5 miles, we’d [...]
Hullo, I have new socks
These socks were my experiment to see how much sock I could get out of one skein of Lorna’s Laces.
I had this much left over, so I definitely could’ve gotten more!
The pattern is from Merike Saarniit’s Spinning for Socks class and these are my first successful toe-up socks! The fit is fabulous. I didn’t want to [...]
happy blogiversary
Happy blogiversary, happy blogiversary, haaaaaaaapy blogiversary!
Yep, it’s been two long years that I’ve been yapping on-line. Hard to believe. Over the past two years, I’ve had knitting successes and disasters. I’ve started many projects that I never finished and really should. Like most of you, I’ve written more posts in my head than I ever [...]
no business posting
Do you ever feel guilty posting when you know you have 25+ emails to send in reply to comments to previous posts? I do. But I’m posting anyway, because I can post from work, but I can’t email from work!
I got in a good bit of spinning this weekend.
21 micron merino I ordered from Miss [...]
