Door knockers of Paris

What can I say?  I’m weird.

I take photographs of what amuses or delights me.

These were taken in the 7th Arrondissement, an area where many French and foreign dignitaries reside, with gated driveways and French flags flying from nearly every home.  I was happy no one thought it too strange I was taking these photographs – [...]

Everyone in the world must have today off

Is anyone out there?  Even the construction workers at the building next door aren’t working.  I think there are five people in my office today.  The phone hasn’t rung ONCE.
So I’ve been making pom-poms.  And filing.  A little.

Handspun, hand-dyed hat made by moi!  To be gifted to a buddy who lives in a much colder place [...]

Why settle for less than 36 hours?

From here on out, I’m going to get my post titles from spam.
I hope everyone’s Christmas was terrific.  I, personally, am very thankful and happy with everything I received (so many crafty gifts, I can’t even begin to go into it) (I also don’t know what to work with first because I want to do [...]

Travel tips

I was just reading Pixie’s blog about her preparations for her trip to London and Paris.  Of course I felt the need to offer her a few of my own tried-and-true travel tips, but I really have more than I can in good conscience put in her comments, so I thought I’d post them here.  [...]

Birthday goodies

Yesterday was such a great day.  It was like an early Christmas!  I guess that’s what you get when your birthday is in December.
I asked my mother for a gift certificate from Hello Yarn, which she graciously provided, and I placed my order last week.  Yesterday, I received my package!

That’s 1 lb. South African fine [...]

And what have YOU been doing???

At last, the long-awaited birthday weekend post (hardeeharhar)!  Bob Seger – Our seats were pretty high up but we had a decent view except for when the cowboy next to me propped his boots up on the railing or sang along with grandiose gestures.  He spilled popcorn on me but since it wasn’t beer, I let [...]

Don’t hate the Knit

Conversation at last night’s holiday party, Starter Castle, Suburbia.
Marla: I have the perfect sister. I can’t do anything right but everything she does is golden. She’s three years older than me, but everyone asks me what it’s like to have a younger sister. She’s perfect, seriously…
Brooke: She’s knitted sweaters for [...]

Hey Kool-Aid!!!

A weekend report post will happen soon, but I’m on vacation this week and our ancient Mac at home doesn’t like my photo software. You can’t post a hiking/birthday weekend report without pictures, so for the time being, here’s a little fiber.
I dyed up 8 oz. of merino I bought from Little [...]
