And distracted – I have so many things I want to do all at once!
I did finish a couple of things, here’s one:

Roniroos by Suvi Simola – cute pattern, fun to knit, horrible name (makes me think of Underoos), need to buy a top to wear under for proper finished object photos! Also need colder weather – it’s in the mid 60s today. Sigh.
Encouraged by Blogless Lynn, I started working on the fringe of my Lady Eleanor scarf/stole, that has been sitting in the abandoned WIP stack since 2008!

Cutting fringe? Easy. Tying fringe? Tiring and a PITA. I finished 2/3 of the first side and quit.

This WIP is now Mack’s favorite place to sleep.
There has been spinning –

Around 800 yards of polwarth dyed by the fabulous Adrian, a fiber club offering but I don’t remember the month. Chain-plied to make the most of the beautiful colors.

I’ve also been playing with my hand cards. This fiber (BFL/silk) is another Hello Yarn club offering that I separated out by color, carded and spun:

I’ve been thinking of doing this for awhile. Yes, it results in small skeins, but it’s perfect for colorwork and while I love the look of a multi-colored skein as much as the next person, the project options are limited. At least in my world. This is all part of keeping in mind the question: Will I actually use/knit/wear this?
Finishing these spinning projects cleared off most of my bobbins – just in time for the January Spin-In in Destin! Tonni and I are headed out early in the morning for several days of spinning and hanging out with fiber peeps, I can’t wait! I’m bringing my handcards and multi-dyed roving and plan to come home with lots of little skeinlets!
That is…if I don’t get distracted…

The design of that vest is lovely. And I think separating out the colors is a brilliant idea. I’m going to try it if I ever sit down and spin again.

Wonderful vest! Hurry up and get a top to wear under it. ;^)
Love the spinning! I’m so glad you ask yourself that question, too. There are days when I think I’ the only one.

I really love those mini-skeins! I think you can definitely find a way to let them shine. And the vest! It’s beautiful. I can’t wait to see your FO shots! Have fun on your spin-in. See you very soon, my friend!!

Roniroos is adorable. I think you made an excellent decision on separating out the different colors and spinning them separately. Multicolored yarns are pretty in the skein, not so much in the knitted object.

Cute vest! And I’m sure you’ll have fun doing something with all of those mini-skeins.

Hooray! I love to be a positive influence for a change!
(Would you believe, after all this time, after the fits and starts and four years and three different needle sizes, I appear to be missing a ball of yarn for my Lady E? Count as I might, I can only come up with nine. This damn thing might do me in yet.)

your vest is really cool – love that cable that ends with a button in a pocket.
your spinning is gorgeous – have a fun time off with your fiber folks!

Love the spinning! Those hand cards especially look like they’re destined for something wonderful. =)
The vest is beautiful (Even despite the name); the cable and the button at the pocket are such nice details.

I had not seen that vest pattern before…such a cool pattern with the cable ending in a pocket and the buttons off center. Yours looks lovely!!
Aww…sweet kitten taking care of your WIP!
Now that I’ve started learning to spin, I pay more attention to what folks do with fiber…I love the little skeins and bet you will make something amazing with them. Now…what is chain-ply?

Nice work! The knot tying sux. Get a fringe twister (LeClerc). Easier.
I hear you on the multicolors. I have to try that one. Had not thought of colorwork.

Both your handspuns look great! You could also knit something really neat with those natural shades where you do a color fade from light to dark. Just an idea. (sjn821)
