zinnia socks

Every summer, I plant (by which I mean, SB removes all the weeds that have grown during the winter and preps the bed for me, and I go outside, decide what flower seeds go where, and sprinkle them about. It’s a great arrangement, I highly recommend it!) a cutting garden of zinnias, sunflowers, cosmos, and various other flowers that may or may not bloom.
The one flower I can count on each year is the zinnia.
This year, I happened to knit socks that embodied all the zinnia colors, thanks to the dyeing geniuses at Koigu (the colorway is P632).
Aren’t they a perfect match?
I know Koigu is not the sturdiest sock yarn out there, but I’m a sucker for the colors.
I put these in the gift box after finishing, but I do believe they’re staying with me. And yes, I realize I’ve said that about several pair!

So colorful and cheerful! SB rocks, by the way. That’s the perfect arrangement. I love both zinnias and cosmos.
I wish sock-knitting mojo were contagious. I just can’t finish knitting pairs of socks for the life of me.

Lovely socks, but it’s the zinnias I’m crazy about.

Beautiful! (both the socks and the flowers)
And what a fantastic division of labor – I’ll have to try that one when we finally get a garden :)

I like the way you garden! I need to convince B this is the way to do it.
And I love those socks. They look delish.

I’m thinking fruit stripe gum, no? Love all the colors, of the flowers and the yarn! I love all of your socks though. I’m fairly certain I’ll never make any due to lack of patience so I’ll just rely on you continuing to make them and keeping them IN the gift box!

They’re gorgeous (both the flowers and socks). I love your idea of gardening…it sounds much easier that way. ;)

Okay, I’m laughing at your planting ‘division’ of labor! I think he’s a keeper!
You are right…absolutely perfect match and they should be removed from the gift basket as soon as possible.

Too funny! We all seem to be knitting zinnia colors this summer. Inspiration!

Oh….Oh my…those are some gorgeous socks! I agree. Those colors would have sucked me right in, too. Love ‘em.

Wow, the really ARE the perfect match. And they’re beautiful. I think I may have to pick up some Koigu sock yarn this summer. Knitting Zinnia socks in the dead of winter would be great.

So pretty! I love the colors. I still haven’t managed to get around to creating a flower bed, but zinnias are definitely on the list of things to try when I do!

And this winter when the zinnias in the garden are gone you’ll still enjoy the ones on your feet!

I always look forward to your zinnias!
Perfect, that you now have socks to match ;-)
…you ARE keeping them, right?

Those are lovely and they do go oh so well with those flowers. I am glad you mentioned that about Koigu not being the best sock yarn. I had never heard that before. But they are so lovely! You should wear them on special days to lounge around the house!
