twelve days

Has it really been 12 days since I posted last? I spent last week in an allergy haze, saved by a z-pack, only to pull a muscle as soon as I started feeling better – which resulted in a neck crick that made me unable to look to the left!
Sometimes you just don’t want to get out of bed, ya know?!?
Especially when bed looks like this.
My sister finished my quilt! This is Mack’s favorite square.
I think this one is mine…
or maybe this one…
or it could be this blue one…
Who could pick a favorite square?!? I love them all! Jennifer has even more fabulous pictures on her blog – and I am so thankful! This is the best present ever, and totally makes up for the time she told me that our Mom had gotten me a fantabulous make-up kit for Christmas, filled with eye shadow of every color and lipstick that would make every 12 year old boy in a ten mile radius worship me – and it was a complete fabrication! Yeah, I was pretty bummed Christmas morning, at least until I opened my Barbie camper.
I especially love the butterscotch pudding squares and backing because I *for one* LOVE butterscotch pudding (the kind you have to cook, that instant crap is for commies)!
I’ll be posting a lot more this week, as I have some failures to report and some new projects too!

Beautiful quilt! And it looks like the whole family gets to enjoy it :)
My sympathies about the allergies and especially the neck crick. My neck/shoulder got so sore at one point yesterday that I couldn’t knit (scary thought!). Thank goodness that has passed.

OMG, what a terrific gift. But then you deserve it after that cruel, cruel trick on Christmas Day. That could leave a pre-teen girl scarred for life :-D !!!
Kitteh! One of mine has gone AWOL this morning, he’ll get a scolding when he shows up.

Hello! I have no idea how I found your blog but I’ve been pouring over it for 2 days! I love the photography, I love your knitting pictures, the food, the spinning :)

Oh wow! What a gorgeous quilt! Now, I wanna go quilt instead of spin for TdF! But, I will prevail and get the spinning done first.

I’m sorry you were sick but staying in bed with a quilt that beautiful must have been at least a little bit of a consolation.

Beautiful quilt…and it seems the kitteh approves which is what counts in the end!
Hope your allergies and neck feel better this week…I’ve been in the same boat with allergies and back issues (the allergies are a first for me). Sigh.

Hope you feel better. The quilt is lovely.

Oh, it’s so beautiful! Such a great mix of colors and prints.
I laughed out loud about the Barbie Country Camper. I had that one, too, and it was a pretty sweet ride for young Barbie and her friends. I also had the pool with the working shower. Ooo la la!

What a gorgeous quilt! Your sister must love you!
I hope your allergies are better now. Hang in there!
I think all sister’s are cruel at some point, ruining a gift or a secret or something!

Such a wonderful gift! You are lucky to have a sister like that.
Hopefully your body will be healing now. It is amazing what just keeps happening, and then it lingers. Take care of you.

I’m so glad to see you’re back! I was just getting ready to send an email asking where had my sister gone?!!!
So have you washed the quilt yet? I was just curious to see how it puckered…Oh, and IT IS OFFICIALLY ON, regarding malicious lies/stories we told each other! Need I remind you of the many, “The hospital called and we brought home the wrong baby” stories you told ME? Mmm hmm. ;)

Love the quilt… and Mack pointing out his favorite square. Cats are a hoot! And I loved reading your sister talking about you. It sounds like how my sister and I interact. You can feel the love.

Sorry you haven’t been up to par!
The quilt is gorgeous.

Sorry about the allergies – I’ve been suffering all spring and hope our migration to Maine later in the week doesn’t set me back a few weeks. Lovely quilt! I’m hoping to do some quilting this summer, so thanks for the inspiration!

The quilt is beautiful and so is your little caretaker of the quilt ;)

That’s a beautiful quilt! Glad you’re feeling better, and I’m glad you’re back. =)

Bee-yoo-tiful quilt! I love that your sister has the excellent design sense to appreciate the need for a generous helping of solid color squares; one of my pet peeves is people who make quilts (or afghans) where EVERY FRICKIN’ SQUARE is patterned.
Ahem. ::fans self and steps down from soapbox::
Like I said, beautiful quilt. And wonderful sister.
