Did you know

that Birmingham is home to the oldest and largest Veteran’s Day Parade?  Last year I went outside to take some pictures of the parade, but never got around to sharing them with you.  I’m a year late, but here they are:

There were a lot of horses.CIMG0003

This guy was really popular with the crowd,

but I thought this horse was prettier.

A long time ago, I dated a guy who went to Marion Military Institute.  His parents sent him there to straighten him out, but he only got worse!

I love this float!

I had no idea this association even existed.

Happy Veteran’s Day, and thanks to all the veterans and their families!

    Perfect for today!

I love seeing those ladies in the last photo, but I think they deserve a float or something. They did such a wonderful job back in the day.

Great pictures! I had no idea about B’ham’s historical parade…and I’ve been in Alabama almost 20 years!

I think that might be THE actual Rosie the Riveter in that last photo! She looks exhausted!
