These are the Abby batts I’ve been spinning for Tour de Fleece.  More correctly, they were the Abby Batts I was spinning for Tour de Fleece.

Now they are yarn.

968 yards of yarn, to be precise, from four Abbybatts.

I’m very happy with it and a bit sad that they’re gone.  I’m thinking of spinning 2 oz. of red camel/silk to go with it, as the trim perhaps, on a large lace shawl.  Pattern suggestions?  Aeolian?  I’ve loved that pattern since I first saw it.

We had a “cold snap” for July last weekend (humidity less than 50% and highs in the upper 80s) and my mind has turned towards sweaters again.  I know the sweater I want to knit, but the yarn has other ideas.  I’ve knit two flat swatches AND a hat-swatch from the yarn, and have lost all three.  Maybe I should knit a little lace and wait for the yarn to come round to my way of thinking.

The zinnias are blooming -reminding me to enjoy the best that each season offers.

What a beautiful job you’ve done on the spinning! I love the yarn. And isn’t it always different from what you think you’ll get? I never would have pegged that yarn from those batts!

Beautiful! I wonder if you just hold the yarn and meditate, if the answer and the location of the swatches would come to you?

The yarn turned out beautifully! Now I’m really sorry I didn’t save some of those batts for moi. Oh well, it’s not like I have nothing to spin…

Lovely yarn from lovely batts…such consistent spinning–your yarn is perfection!

And so are your zinnias! The pack of zinnia seed that I planted this year is blooming now…nothing but white and pale pinks! gah! (after all the snow of winter, I’m ready for a splash of bright red!)

Beautiful yarn. The batt is so luscious. I love watching the way the colors peek out from the main fiber. Yes! to Aeolian.

Can I just mention here and now that the things I want to do with that yarn are probably unspeakable? Oh hell, I’ve never been shy. That yarn is so beautiful I just want to roll around naked in it.

Yeah, I know. Your mind’s eye is blind now. :P
