four years in the making

We’ve been in our house almost four years and for four years, I’ve had foliage, but no gladiolas.
This year, we got a surprise. I did not plant this, and I think I appreciate its beauty even more because I did absolutely nothing to create it.
It was a gift that I wasn’t expecting, and I wanted to share it with my friends.

beautiful! it’s why I always leave “weeds” to see what they become. I haven’t been surprised as nicely as you have, but I do have a volunteer crepe myrtle coming up.

Wow! Can definitely tell we have different climates. I won’t see any gladiolas until later in the summer. Love how vibrant the red is!

Lovely! Glads have never done well for me. Maybe I didn’t give them enough years.

I adore glads. We have a few planted next to the foundation of our house. I think that keeps the soil warm enough for them to survive our Upstate NY winters. Yours if beautiful.
