people really tick me off

What the hell is up with people anymore?
Someone in my office routinely turns the thermostat (that controls my air vents) up to 85 degrees. Yes, it’s chilly outside (if you call 60 degrees chilly), but geez, give a thought about other people, won’t you? You can put more clothes on, but I can’t take my clothes off!
Is it me, or have drivers totally lost their minds lately? I’ve had people merge in front of me without even checking for traffic, run red lights and weave all over the road in the past week. It scares me to death.
Why do people disagree with straightforward posts on the Ravelry forums? The forum I frequent most is the Lost knitters group and I’ll admit, I’ve posted some pretty hairbrained theories there. But if I go back and edit my post to say that yes, I admit I was wrong about such-and-such a theory, WHY do people still hit disagree? Are they just mean, disagreeable people? I was wondering how long it would take for the snark to hit and I guess I should be surprised that it’s taken this long.
I do not like feeling like this. I need a punching bag and a gin rickey, stat!

Must be something in the air. The other day, I had a lady cut in front of me (and a bunch of other people) when I was checking out at a store. When we both stepped up to the cashier, she started berating me about being rude and trying to jump in front of *her*. The cashier refused to direct the lady to the end of the line, so all of us had to stand there while she checked out. Several people walked out and I would have been right behind them had I not direly needed what I had. I’ll never go back to that store, though.
As for the Ravelry forums, that’s why I rarely use them. Too much drama. Hope your week gets better!

You can’t control anyone else and it’s futile to waste your energy trying to figure them out. Ignore them, live well and revel in your own happiness. In other words…fork ‘em.

Spring makes people crazy and it’s always spring on Ravelry.

Okay – it IS something in the air or water or whatever. Because I am ordering myself a GROSS of NO PITA’s buttons and starting to pass them out. I’m starting with the lady at the horse park who yelled at us (twice!!) in front of her kid on Tuesday. And we actually were being very polite. I coulda taught her kid a couple of new words if I had shared my thoughts back at her.

You know, I’ve wondered about that disagree button too. I’ve seen people mark disagree on things that disageeing to makes no sense such as “my dog died today.” Who these people are and why they have so much time to troll around clicking disagree I never want to know.
Hope your week calms down and ends in gin. I always click agree for that.

I’ll trade my co-workers for yours just to see how it feels. I sat at my desk all winter with my jacket on, my mittens, my scarf, etc and froze to death. I also want to write a book on cubicle etiquette.
I’m busting my arse this week and one of the gals can’t help cover phones but went outside this afternoon to enjoy the sunshine for awhile…..I’m grumpy…can you tell!

I’m with Margene… :)
Don’t you feel better now that you’ve gotten this frustration off your chest?!

If you were here I’d blame the wind. It’s making people crazy.
And I’ve wondered the same thing about that damn button on Ravelry. Don’t people have anything better to do?

Joansie,
I think a book on cubicle etiquette is definitely needed.
People really do stink and I have trouble just ignoring it, too. Hope you feel better now that you’ve gotten off your chest.

Put a sticky on that thermostat that says “If you turn up that thermostat again, be prepared to check my tattoos for proper spelling.”
Or some such.
People click the disagree to be disagreeable. I’ve even heard others have had someone stalking them and marking disagree on each post to be annoying. Sigh.

I know exactly what you mean regarding the drivers. The other day I was with my mom and daughter and I saw about the 50th car turn in front of me without using its blinker. I turned to my mom and said “I am going to write to the president and advise him that when is in talks with the car manufacturer’s, he needs to remind them that it isn’t safe to issue cars without directionals since obviously the fancy Lexus that just turned in front of us doesn’t have a blinker.”
I also know what you mean about the Ravelry posters. I have always felt that when you are posting theories on a particular shows forum, it is rude to disagree. You might disagree but to just randomly hit the button is rude. I thought that part of the creation of the forums for the shows was to give everyone a place to speculate. Anyway, I feel for you.
Speaking of Lost, I am so confused. I feel Lost.
Have a good weekend and try to relax.

I regularly have to resist the urge to throttle drivers who talk on their cells and don’t pay attention, drivers who have no clue how to merge onto the highway, and college students who think they’re immortal and just walk out in front of my car without looking. Thank God I have a twitchy brake foot! Be strong and consume strong comestibles and chocolate.

It is quite amazing, isn’t it? There’s all the little stuff, like people dragging their unspeakable junk to the curb days before garbage pickup, and loud cell phone talkers, and store clerks who seem to live to be both rude and lazy. And then there’s the big stuff, like co-workers who appear to be self-destructing and people who are intent on ruining their marriages… I don’t know, I’d take Cookie’s statement one step farther and say that it’s spring everywhere. All the time.

I’ve noticed that about the drivers recently. It’s as if they stopped caring about no accidents. THere seems to be a release of inhibition that is not good. It’s been thoroughly frustrating, as I have to drive a bunch each day.

There seems to be an epidemic. It’s hit Germany too! *hugs* Summer is nearly here and the heat must be causing some people to lose their marbles. All I can say is that you’re not alone in feeling this way, hold that thought with you!

Please don’t take this as a slam on you, but great zeus, WHY do people worry about the disagree button?? Do you also worry about the Love button, or the Interesting button? If someone agrees with you, do you also want to know why? Who the heck cares if some random person disagrees with you??
Sorry, I just can’t understand why people worry about the silly disagree button. Especially now that you can go and turn off the buttons you don’t want to see.
It’s just like avatars. There are some avatars out there that bother me, but instead of wondering why people put up pictures that *I* don’t like, I use the “Disagree” or “Hide Avatar” option to cover them up. That way I take responsibility for taking care of what bothers ME without demanding that someone else behave differently.

loves the buttons, clicks often
and NOT just disagree
