for once, it’s not me

Just got a reply from Lisa Lloyd, designer of the Amanda Jacket and all the beautiful patterns in A Fine Fleece, and apparently there is an error in the number of decreases given in the pattern for at least two of the sizes, but not addressed in the errata.
I’m going to decrease until I run out of front stitches and then make the collar work with the stitch count I have left. Somehow. I’ll figure it out.
Meanwhile, I’ve cast on for a new distraction!

This is the Ariosa Wrap Cardi, which is a free pattern from Classic Elite Yarns that you can find here. I’m using Rowan Summer Tweed that I’ve had in my stash for a good while and tried twice to turn into something that didn’t work. I really love this yarn and decided it needs another chance. Plus, it was 82 yesterday and my days of knitting a lap full of wool are about over!
I’m all about the big collars lately! I should probably go to the mall and see if I can even WEAR big collars, but nah, I like the suspense! And as EZ says, it if doesn’t fit me, it’ll fit someone!

Oh whew! It’s good to know you’re not going nuts or losing your ability to do math! :-D

Oooo! I love it – what a great, bright color on the new sweater.

Good for you, you can do it. :)
I really will answer your emails sometime this week, no later than Sunday. I’ve been incredibly drained this week and the couch is so much comfier than my computer chair.
Good luck with your current and your new projects, you are one of the most prolific knitters I know!

Smart move e-mailing her. I’ve usually had pretty good luck contacting designers regarding pattern questions. Hopefully the errata page will be corrected soon for the rest of us.
New project looks nice thus far.

It must feel good to know it wasn’t you. Good luck with the sweater. I’m drooling over your Summer Tweed.

Beautiful distraction! You will have it all figured out in no time at all ;-)
Did you say 82…as in degrees? sigh.

More power to you! If I were in your situation, I’d probably put the sweater in time out and then go sulk. I’m glad you’re braver than me ’cause what I’ve seen of the sweater is beautiful. Good luck!
