sleeves, sleeves

Posted on | March 5, 2009 | 17 Comments

I love to knit sleeves.  It makes my day to knit a sleeve.  Or two.  Or three.

Why else would I knit three sleeves for my Amanda Jacket?

It couldn’t be because…

A.   I decided I didn’t really like the contrasting cuff; or

B.  I’m optimistic that I’ll have enough handspun to knit the entire sweater without contrasting cuffs and collar; or

C.  It’d been so long since I knit the first sleeve that I couldn’t remember the modifications I made, and in light of A and B, decided it would be easier to just reknit the whole sleeve rather than figure out what I’d done on the first sleeve, rip back and make it match the second sleeve AND undo and remove the contrasting cuff, pick up stitches and knit down.

Nope.

I just love knitting sleeves.

I vote for D. you secretly have a third arm that you are waiting to share with us until you’re able to properly clothe it in handknits. ;) It’s a good thing you love knitting sleeves.

Beautiful yarn, and beautiful sleeves. All three of them.

Oh, phew. I really thought it was “C.”

    ‘Cause that’s what I’d do.

Good for you! It’s better to love what your doing than be stuck on sleeve island.

I’m knitting the sleeves first on the sweater I’m working on now. I’ve never knit with size 19 needles (sweater won’t be horrid – I think) using chunky yarn and I swear it’s like knitting with trunks.

Love all the texture. I just wanna rub my face on your knitting.

With that yarn and those colors, why stop at 3 sleeves? Let yourself go crazy and knit half a dozen!

If it were me, it would be because I forgot where I put one of the sleeves I had already knit. Or I forgot that I had knit it at all…

    hummm…not sure I’m believing you…really?

I’m thinking it might be that cuff issue that caused you to go over the edge…

…or you are really making pants for a 4-legged critter and you are only 3/4 done?
