Cassidy

Finally took some pictures!

We’re having a little seasonal weather, so I’m actually wearing Cassidy today!

Wearing a hoodie to the office may not be the most professional thing I’ve ever done, but I don’t care.  I may start caring when the thermostat that controls my office temperature mysteriously creeps up to 85 (no lie!), but then I’ll switch from coffee to ice water so I can tolerate wearing a sweater.

I am really pumped over these sleeve caps.  And the fact that Cassidy actually FITS!  Few things are as disheartening as knitting a sweater that doesn’t fit.

True, the sleeves are a bit long, but I kinda like the cuff.

Details:

Pattern:  Cassidy by Bonnie Marie Burns (funny – it looks like she’s knitting one the same color!)

Yarn:  Miss Babs Yowza handpainted yarn in Gray Flannel, almost 3 skeins

Modifications:  I followed two different sizing directions.  It could’ve been a recipe for disaster, but it worked out perfectly.  I knit the sleeves following instructions for the 38″ size, but began the body with the stitch count for the 46″ size, decreased to the 42″ size and used the 38″ size sleeve decreases.  Confusing?  Not as confusing in reality as it was trying to describe it just now!  The key is – I knit this sweater to my measurements.  My bust is smaller than my hips and my upper chest/shoulder area is smaller still.  I suppose this makes me pear-shaped, but I have a waist, so I’d say I’m more of a squash.

I’m so glad to have this off the needles and that I can wear it before next winter!  I have a lot more to blog about (another finished sweater – one you haven’t seen a peep of - a recipe to share, a book to review and new projects begun), but I’d better save something for the rest of the week.

Happy Monday!

It looks fantastic! I really want to make it for Hannah but the sizing doesn’t go down small enough. I know, I hate her too. ;-)

What a gorgeous sweater! I love all the cables and details. Great job of knitting to fit, too; that is difficult when knitting a sweater in pieces.
