insomnia is great for knitting

Posted on | February 4, 2009 | 14 Comments

Four in the morning…

Insomnia would  be great for finishing my Cassidy sweater…except that my darning needles are in the cigar box on top of the armoire in the bedroom in which SB is asleep.

Insomnia would  be great for spinning…except that my fiber is all on shelves in the closet in the bedroom in which SB is asleep.

Insomnia would  be great for downloading new podcasts of This American Life to my iPod…except that my iPod is in my purse which is on the dresser in the bedroom in which SB is asleep.

Therefore…insomnia is great for knitting.

First sleeve – finished.  I’m still not sure about the cuff, but that can be easily snipped off and reknit later.

Now I’m going to enjoy some yummy organic coffee and try to wake up!

I take it SB is a light sleeper? My SB (Smokey Bear) is not — I could have waltzed into the bedroom, turned on the light, found all the stuff I wanted and waltzed out He would have snored on, undisturbed. Sleeve looks mighty pretty!

Ambien is my friend :) We are also enjoying the yummy organic coffee – and I find that we get more for our money than with the previous coffee club! The yarn is beautiful… i’m wishing I would have purchased some of this…

Too funny, when I first read the title I first thought – she moved?!

We have Thursday afternoon knitting at a local coffee shop called – Insomnia Coffee. Not that I think they are open really late. ;^)

It does sound as if you need to relocate where you store your things for those times when insomnia is an issue. Have you tried melatonin?

Best prepare for insomnia by having a basket you can grab as you leave the bed. But then, knitting into the night isn’t all that bad, eh?

I guess SB is a light sleeper? A bomb could go off here and my 2 wouldn’t wake up. Guess that is a good thing for me hu.? Time to rethink having a bit of this and that out so that you can have it when you need it. :) Yay for knitting the night away. I have done that a few times and it is quite productive. ;)

*hugs* I hate sleepless nights and I’m really bad cos I stay in bed wide awake tossing and turning, too lazy to get out of bed!

He must be quite the light sleeper, eh?

I’m not a fan of that high a contrast on the cuff, but then again, it’s hard to say because it’s not done yet. And first and foremost, if it makes you happy then I say go for it. :P

I dunno…I don’t think insomnia is particularly good for anything that requires thought or consciousness. (At least for me.) So downloading sounds good.

It’s that full moon…lights up the snow like daytime around here!

I like the cuff! It is surprising and fun ;-)
