Voyeurism: come take a peek

Posted on | January 13, 2009 | 10 Comments

I’ve been thinking for awhile that I should post about bloggers who inspire me, and this post from Buzzylaines made me get off my tookus and actually do it.  Now, other than the literature that comes in a box of Godiva chocolates or my Phytodefrissant instructions, I can’t read French.  Buzzylaines is a French blog I subscribe to because she is a fearless knitter.  She tackles colorwork like nobody’s business and the post I reference above is the most amazing display of correcting a mistake that I’ve ever seen.  I assume that’s what she’s doing.  Like I said, I can’t read it.  She also had a pet squirrel at one point, which I think is really cool.  I’ve never commented on her blog, but that doesn’t mean I don’t follow her projects and admire her skill.

This won’t be the last post of this kind.  I like discovering new blogs – there are so many out there that when one strikes a chord, it should be shared.

Do you have any blogs you’d like to share?

Quiche beginnings – Christmas day.   I was channeling Carole and made the crust from scratch!  I’ll never buy a frozen crust again.

Yum! I always make my own crust too – it never tastes the same frozen, no matter how posh it is. Sometime I’ve got to get someone to explain the secret of a cheese crust to me, the only time I ever tried it the pastry was tough :-/

From a photographer’s perspective I’m inspired by WeHeartYarn (http://weheartyarn.blogspot.com) It’s like candy for the knitter’s soul. While the knitting is well done, it’s not about the technical aspect for me. For me it’s all about the photos, the photography is just gorgeous.

May I suggest (and that may very well be it), that you try the vodka pie crust from Cook’s Illustrated? It’s the Best Ever.

And, awesome, thanks! I could use a few new blogs. My Bloglines is feeling a little stale (and I do speak French)!

Love that pie dish! I wanted a deep dish white one for Christmas secretively, but didn’t mention it to anyone – Now I’m glad I didn’t; I’d just make pie and be forced to eat it.
