metaphorically mopping

I have lots of stuff to chat about.

First – SOME PEOPLE will do anything, even birth a baby, to avoid finishing their holiday knitting!  Sheesh.  Congratulations, Carrie!  Get some rest – you deserve it!

Me, on the other hand, I’m not so lucky.  I can’t just pop into the hospital and say, oh, so sorry, can’t finish the knitting because I have a BABY to care for!  ;o)  So, the knitting continues – I’m on the heel flap of the first sock.

I should’ve picked a better pattern, one with shorter repeats that I could memorize.  It also didn’t help that last night my body was wracked with aches and pains and I thought for sure I had contracted the virus that has felled my dear husband for the past five days.  I didn’t work on the socks at all yesterday, which puts me seriously behind schedule but I am determined NOT to be sick and I feel much better today!  If I can finish the heel completely, I’ll be back on track.

Paula tagged me for the Six Things Meme and since I have no pictures due to this incessant rain, today’s a good day for it.

1.  We still don’t have our Christmas tree.  I’m having a hard time getting into the spirit this year, probably because it’s in the 60s and gloomy.  It feels more like March.  Yesterday I saw new growth on a ginko tree.

2.  The older I get, the less I like to go shopping or talk on the phone.

3.  I have a great fear of inadvertently turning into a person who collects oodles of chotchkies.  Like, when people know you’re a knitter/spinner and they start giving you sheep figurines.  One or two is great (I absolutely love the first one I got), but I am fearful that if I don’t put an end to it, I’ll have a flock.  Or several flocks.  That I’ll then have to dust.  It can only lead to madness.

4.  Whenever I need a pick me up, I look at Emily’s pictures of Baby Ellie.  I used to think her cats were cute, but Ellie chasing the cats?  Cutest. Thing. Ever.

5.  I’m considering joining this Sweater A Month thing because I’m just that crazy.

6.  When I am determined to do something, I will stop at nothing to achieve my final goal.

Running the top of the bottle under hot water will probably work much better! But I’m sure you’ve already gotten it open.

    Cheers!

GREAT pic! It took me a second…What does that say, that I didn’t raise an eyebrow at channel locks wrapped around a liquor bottle? Somewhere in my mind it was a makes sense to me moment!

Dust? Is that what this stuff is on everything over here? I think if I put enough yarn on the tables, no one will notice.

I’m not saying I joined the 12 Sweaters thing, because when I announce stuff like that, I’m liable not to actually follow through with it.

    But I’m not saying I DIDN’T join either…..

Great photo, and I echo the sentiment. Happy holidays!

Hey, don’t blame me, I finished my Christmas knitting. (Of course, finishing said knitting was in order to procrastinate on other stuff I was supposed to be doing, but still.)

Thank you! It was one of those moments when you think, ‘I have GOT to blog this!’
