what a p*sser

I rear-ended someone this morning. The boy was complaining about his haircut and said “look at how uneven my bangs are!” and like a dummy, I looked. When I looked back, the car in front of me had slammed on her brakes, I slammed on mine, but couldn’t stop in time.
Her license plate holder was cracked. Otherwise, she was fine. Other than a bruise on my knee from hitting the dashboard, there were no injuries.
My bumper is cracked, my grill is bent, and a full cup of tea soaked my dashboard. Including my new stereo (it’s less than a year old, it counts as new). I took off the faceplate and wiped everything down and let it dry on the seat while I went into the doctor’s office to give them blood for labwork – another yay moment this morning. The radio played for awhile but then the faceplate got foggy so it obviously needs to dry out more. Wonder if insurance will cover it, too?
Things can only get better.

Oh yuck. This sounds like a good day to call in sick. And maybe go see a chiropractor, just in case. Or get a massage.

So sorry! Not a fun way to start your day. Glad no one was hurt. I have a feeling the insurance company will make you eat expense of the stereo if you’re deemed at fault. It may be cheaper to replace the stereo than add it to the claim and have your premium go up more. Disclaimer: I’m not an expert in these matters. Hopefully the radio will dry out and be just fine!

That stinks. I’m glad no one was hurt, though.

Oh hun. I’m so sorry. Lots of hugs to you.

I’m glad no one was hurt… I’ve had a similar incident — the girl kept saying look, look, look and when I finally looked, I rear-ended someone.
Do you have the insurance that has “accident forgiveness”? Do they know you put a new stereo in your vehicle? I would talk to your insurance agent and ask them the best way to handle. If they can take care of everything with one deductible, that may be the way to go. I hope your premium doesn’t go up :(

Crappers. I hope that this is all resolved quickly and relatively painlessly. What a downer!

You right, that is a P*sser!! I spent the morning at a school program and lunch complete with my sister’s ex and his narcissistic wife.

I am so sorry, but so glad everyone human is okay. Too bad about the stereo — #2 son, the tech wizard, said that wiping down the innards of electronics with distilled water is the best way to clean them if/when they get beverages spilled. Hope it is all okay.

Oh no!! I am so glad you are okay!

Ugh. I backed into a parked car a couple weeks ago, if that makes you feel any better.
I’m glad you’re okay, but it still sucks.

oh jeez, i’m sorry. good thing no one was hurt but since this exact thing happened to me just 4 months ago, i can feel your pain. it’s such a nuisance.

Gah- that is one of those knee-jerk response type of things, …someone says “look” and ya do!
I’m glad no one was really hurt…hope your knee feels better soon…sending a virtual cocktail of choice
and a nice cushy afghan to curl up under….

Whew! If the radio is the only causality I’d call that good!

Crap. Never. good.

That sucks – what a bad way to start your day. Glad everyone is ok – and hoping your radio is too!

Oh no. Hope your week improves.

Sooo glad you weren’t hurt tho! That’s the main thing. (Or your boy, for that matter!).

Oi! I’m glad the two of you are okay! Sometimes Life just needs to be flipped off. Grr.

These things can happen in the tiniest fraction of a second. I do my best not to think about how close we are to disaster all the time.
Glad y’all are ok, and hope the radio works fine.
