it’s a random thursday

and I have a list.

1.  I renewed my driver’s license this morning and took the worst photo of my entire life.  Seriously, it looks like I’m retaining 20 lbs. of water in my face.  So demoralizing.  I’ve been working so hard, too.  I’ve lost 17 lbs. since June!  A drop in the bucket, my friends.  A drop in the bucket.

2.  Three days ago I began a list of things to do before I leave for SOAR next Thursday.  I tried to categorize the list into Things I Must Have Done and Things I’d Like to Have Done.  I was shocked to see only one item in the Things I’d Like to Have Done category.  I’ve only accomplished one of the seven items in the Things I Must Have Done category – renewing my driver’s license.  I believe it’s time to adjust my expectations.

3.  I haven’t been posting much because I haven’t had anything nice to say.  I’m on a bitchy streak.  I blame politics.

4.  In case you’re asking yourself, ‘why do I even read this blog?’, here’s the latest yarn I’ve spun and finished:

This is superwash merino from my Mason jar dyeing experiment back in July.  It’s really soft.

5.  I believe it’s absolutely essential for me to have a simple project on the needles at all times.  All of the things I want to finish before SOAR require concentration and large blocks of time to complete.  During the week those two things are hard to find.  So this week I’ve been working on a new sweater, which I’ll show you…tomorrow.  Promise.

We’re all a little bitchy over politics. I’m using the ostrich technique to get through it all. Nice handspun. That would brighten any mood!

I’m with Margene. It’s too exhausting to be hating everyone all the time, so I pretend they don’t deserve it.
Great handspun! I understand the need for simple too! It’s funny to me to see how my definition of “simple” has changed over the years, though.

The current political climate is enough to make anyone bitchy. Let’s just hope it all settles down after 11/4. Good luck with your to-do-list!

Mmmm…pretty! I need something simple right now, too. But the simplest things are still kicking my arse. I’ll blame politics, too.

Ugh! You have until next Thursday. I have already crossed pretty much everything off the ‘would like to have done’ (crossed it off, not done it) and I’m starting to trim the ‘must do’ list as well. I have started a little pile of stuff, and done laundry at least, so packing should work!

    See you Thursday!

Have a great time at SOAR!

Make sure that the needles don’t pickup on your vibe…the sweater will itch.

The yarn turned out so well! The colors are beautiful! Isn’t it amazing just how different the roving is from how the finished yarn turns out? It’s always a surprise. Have fun at SOAR! I’m fighting my disappointment that I’ll be missing it this year. I may have my own SOAR Pity Party this weekend. :-)
