let’s go to the market!

Almost every summer Saturday morning, SB and I go to the market. We get there as early as we can roll out of bed, and leave just when it’s getting crowded.
I love these beans (peas?)(beans?). I don’t even want to cook them, I just want to play with the pretty colors.
We brought some sweet white corn home with us; I made a lunch salad and we had corn on the cob last night. I love fresh corn!
I also love seeing the generations of families working together, bringing their harvest to market. It’s so … real. And homey.
This was the best deal in the place.
I’ll take them all!
Fresh off the truck. I tell ya, Georgia peaches don’t have anything on Chilton County peaches! It’s been a good year for peaches too, must be all the spring rain we had.
Hope you enjoyed your trip to the market!

What a lovely market – full of colors and textures and… those tomatoes are making me drool, and I totally agree with you about the beans (though I’m sure they’d be quite tasty cooked up)!
The salad sounds delicious :)

Everything is gorgeous. Gee I could make a fortune selling basil. Think I will have pesto and tomatoes for dinner.

Chilton County peaches are the best peaches in the history of the world.
In my completely unbiased opinion.
I ate a basket of them in two days.
