Arte y pico

Yesterday, I was flabbergasted to see that Cyndy had awarded me a Arte y pico award.  Although I’m not really sure what this award is (and reviewing the website didn’t make it much clearer), I’m humbled that Cyndy listed my blog because, well, I have a little bit of a blog crush going on.  As in, I tell my husband all the time that we need to move to the woods and be self-sufficient, like Cyndy, and I am constantly inspired by her knowledge and the graceful manner in which she conveys her thoughts.  Reading Riverrim is a calming experience, a welcome part of my day.  I think that if Cyndy lived down the road from me, I’d be at her door every Wednesday, ready to take a walk!

Now I will award my own Arte d pico awards!

But you know, who really needs a statue to dust?  Have a flower instead:

1.  Abby, whose little white bird hands I can’t wait to see in action!

2.  Carole, who always has something interesting to show us

3.  My sister, Jen, who is renewing her love of embroidery (my first love!)

4.  Becky, who accomplishes more than I can even think about!

5.  Emily, who arranges the only swaps I’ll sign up for, and who makes beautiful babies

It’s hard to narrow it down to five.  I love all the blogs I read, especially the ones that have been on my radar since the beginning (almost three years now!).

If you want to play along, here are the rules:
1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you copnsider deserve this award, creativity, design, interesting material, and also contrubuites to the blogger community, no matter of language.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3) Each award-winner, has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.

4) Award-winners and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte y pico” blog , so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5) To show these rules.
In knitting news:

The front AND back are finished.  Sleeves are up next and I’m basically writing the pattern from scratch, since I will not be making little cap sleeves.  I mean, have you SEEN my upper arms?  Oh, that’s right, you haven’t.  And you won’t anytime soon.  Believe you me, these puppies need more coverage than cap sleeves will provide.  I’m making elbow-length sleeves and praying the seaming goes well.  And that I have enough yarn leftover for the neckband.

Amen.

Thank you, but… are you sure? I feel like such a poser. I dream of being as accomplished a knitter as yourself. I’d better get to work. Thank goodness the Ravelympics starts tomorrow so I can finally cast on my shawl. Thanks, Elizabeth.

    Neckbands are highly overrated.
