Looser pants! That's wonderful. It's so easy to get hung up on numbers. Hope you're able to shake up your workout and re-invigorate yourself --- you're doing great!

I try to break out of my dressing rut now and again, only to find that even my breakout choices are predictable -- what is that about?

I'm sure everything will work out for SOAR - sounds like fun.

I'd also take the loose-fitting pants.

Sympathies on the pink/pink/orange issue. I'm a very boring dresser too, but I've pretty much made my peace with that.

Congrats on SOAR. I've pretty much given up hope that I'll ever have the perfect combination of time/money/motivation to go at all. Oh well.

Yay for looser pants! That is a truer measure than the scale, as Margene pointed out (weight of muscle vs. the weight of fat). I am also a conservative dresser who sometimes wishes she were more... colorful. Double dog dare you to wear something bright -- scarf, vest, whatever :-)

Looser pants beats a lower number on the scale hands down! I suspect the first step in being that person is to have something bright to wear. I'd make the vest.

Oh, Elizabeth, if you want to be that person, then BE that person. Life is too short to just think about
it. Imagine how that vest would pop against a black shirt. It would be gorgeous! YOU would be gorgeous!
So go ahead, make the vest. If nothing else, you can just wear it around the house and feel good that
you're wearing such fun colors.

I'm in training mode and I almost always gain weight at first - it's got to be that whole muscle vs. fat argument. At least that's what I'm telling myself. Clothes fitting better is a great motivator - the sizes and weights are tough. And the damn sizes keep changing - so pfffft to them ;) You're doing great!

Seriously - this summer? so over it.

I can definitely relate to wanting to be that person in the pink/pink/orange vest, but who says you can't wear one over a nice long-sleeved black T and black pants? :) You could try some kind of poncho derivative if there's any chance it will get cold enough to wear it in the deep south.

Hope your doldrums disappear soon! Just have a look (from the comfort of your AC) at all those zinnias blooming!

Stick the scale outside next to the rubbish bins and move on. Your clothing tells the only truth you'll ever need.

(Says the woman who has a habit of shrinking some of her favorite things. Sigh.)
