making yarn is a lot more fun than making copies

Have you guys heard of the Tour de Fleece? It’s where a bunch of spinners decide to spin each day that the Tour de France rides. Some make lofty goals at the outset, some are just hoping to meet the challenge of spinning on riding days. ALL are flooding my bloglines with pictures of their fabulous spinning!
It has clearly influenced my fiber activities.
I finally got my hands on some Pigeonroof Studios roving! I always miss the updates, but I was lucky enough to snag this on a Ravelry destash. I think I could’ve done a better job spinning it, but I still really like it.
But this, THIS I love:
6+ oz., 520 yards, worsted weight, in Fat Cat Knits‘ Midnight Squall colorway, Falkland wool. I’d forgotten how much I love spinning Falkland. The best part? I have another 6 oz. that I’m spinning now. I hope that when it’s all said and done I’ll have enough for my next handspun sweater. I’m thinking of a simple pattern to show off the yarn, perhaps a Seamless Hybrid.
Wow, three posts in three days. I’m on a roll!

I love the fiber from both of those ladies! Pigeon Roof is one of my favorites, but one of the hardest to get too.I’m working on my Tour de Fleece project and I think I’ll actually make my goal this weekend. I’ll have to pull out some other fiber to keep going.
