my clothes aren’t packed

but my yarn is finished, so that means I’m ready for vacation!
What do you think? Do you think it’s too much contrast for stranded gloves? I’ve decided on a pattern from Terri Shea’s Selbuvotter (I’m giving you a Ravelry link because my office has blocked Terri’s website for some reason and you can buy the book directly from her and she’ll sign it for you! There’s a direct link on the Rav page). There aren’t any projects for the gloves I want to make on Ravelry yet, so I may be the first “regular” knitter to make them. (eta: I was wrong, here they are). This book is beautiful, I want to make everything in it!
I tell ya, I’ve had a harder time figuring out what projects to bring on this trip than anything else. Socks, of course, and the stranded gloves, but I’d like to bring a big project too. It’s so tempting to cast on for something new, but my attempts at sweater making lately have not been fruitful, in fact they’ve been downright frustrating, so I may just bring my Lady Eleanor and try to finish that up.
My home email account has gone wonky. I have over 200 messages in my Out box that haven’t been sent. If you’ve left me a comment, chances are I’ve tried to reply, even thought that I had replied until recently, but apparently my email is holding my replies hostage. I am so sorry. The little bit of research I’ve done indicates a problem with my software and I just haven’t had time to reinstall everything and try to resolve it. It’s number one on my to-do list after vacation! I know that email replies to comments aren’t obligatory, but it’s something that I appreciate getting, so I try to do it as often as I can.
I’ve still been working out and eating well. Yesterday I felt like I hit a brick wall though, I did NOT want to go to the gym at lunch (but I did) and I could barely finish my dinner salad. I need to hold onto my momentum because I’ve lost 9.5 lbs (YAY!) and still have a long, long way to go. I think walking on the beach instead of working out in the gym, and eating lots of fruits and veggies over the week will get me motivated again.
You guys have a wonderful weekend and next week! I won’t be blogging, but I’ll be thinking of y’all and wondering what you’re up to!

hooray for all your weight loss. hope you keep it up while on vacation. those are so difficult. i always give myself permission to pig out and have dessert at least once a day because it’s new food that i can’t get at home and what if i miss out on something wonderful? course, there’s usually a good bit of mediocre dessert that happens, too. hope you figure out what big project to take on vacation. my vote it for finishing up lady eleanor. enjoy! can’t wait to see your vacay photos eventually upon your return. be safe. relax a lot! will miss you mucho.

Have a lovely, lovely time! I think anyone who packs yarn before clothing has her priorities firmly in place.
p.s. I have a Lady Eleanor languishing, too, which I need to rip back and change needle size. Maybe we can KAL for moral support. Though Silk Garden in this weather (it’s 107 today) isn’t all that appealing….
