Today’s my Friday!

Hurrah!  Tomorrow morning earlyearlyearly I’m heading up to Huntsville to take a class from Stefania Isaacson and Saturday I’m taking a class from Merike Saarniit!  I’m really excited, both about taking classes from these fabulous instructors and also because I’m staying with Meg tomorrow night!

I’ve been trying to clear off some bobbins in preparation for these classes.

This is 8 oz. of roving I bought from Wauka Valley Farms at SAFF.  I started spinning it at SAFF (last October!) and never finished it.  But now it’s done and I have another bobbin cleared!

This is some local wool I dyed and am spinning as a gift for a good friend.  I’m not terribly happy with it – I chain plied it and it’s thicker than what she wanted.  I have more of the same fiber and I’m going to try to do a better job with it.  TWO – TWO bobbins cleared!  Ha-ha-ha! (insert The Count’s laugh)

This is what I’m spinning now.  I was so high on finishing off two spinning projects that I let myself start this.  It’s BFL dyed by Julia of Knitterly Things and it is heavenly to spin!  In fact, I’m done spinning it and hope to ply it tonight (along with all the packing, downloading albums, books and podcasts to my ipod, etc. that I need to do).

I’ve finished both sleeves of the Airy Cardigan and am knitting the lace border that goes along the bottom of the sweater body.  I’m 12 repeats in and have 40 more to go!  (woofreakinhoo).  It’s dawned on me that I’ll likely never wear this sweater, but for some strange reason, I still want to knit it.  I think the mohair fuzz has affected my brain.

I love the purple/green yarn. It’s beautiful. Have fun with your classes and staying with your friend. Sleepovers are oodles of fun. :-) I’m considering taking a yarn dyeing class the last weekend of March. I love taking classes.
