I’m on the collar of the Drops cardigan! Sorry for the crappy picture, there’s no good way to photograph the sweater at this point. I’m plowing ahead despite grave doubts. First, this sweater is big. Really really big. I’m hoping it won’t be as big once it’s completely seamed. It’s meant to be more of a jacket, so maybe it’ll work. Second, I’m afraid the sleeves won’t seam up right. The directions are awful, as many people on Ravelry have pointed out, and I thought that following the same type and amount of decreases that I did for the back would result in perfectly-fitted sleeves, but they don’t line up. The sleeve caps may need to be reknit, which may screw up the length. We’ll see.
While the sweater was blocking and drying, I started spinning merino in “Warmed” from Hello Yarn.
This is the final yarn, 285 yards of chained singles. I intended to make this a two ply initially, but I was afraid that when the red was plied against the green, it would turn muddy (thank you, Twisted Sisters Sock Workbook). These colors are too pretty to be muddy!
Mmmmmm…that’s a nice contrast to the gray skies! How about another?
These would make some really fun stripey socks. My love for this yarn could be enough to get me over my current sock ennui.
I believe I’ll cast on tonight during Lost. Now where are my size 2 dpns?

The photos of your spinning are really wonderful.

I’m sending hopeful thoughts your way on the cardigan. And the spinning is beautiful. Cannot wait to see what you do with that. I have some BFL on the wheel destined for socks – my first pair from handspun. It’s like a little bright spot in my spinning life!

I love the photos too. Hope the Drops design turns out well, it is such a pretty color.

I discovered last night that my sleeve caps need to be reknit AGAIN because they don’t match the body with my altered gauge. Tell me how it’s possible that the sleeves are exactly the same size, the armscyes are exactly the same size, and yet one sleeve fits the armscye and the other doesn’t?

OH! I spun some of that as well, but did decide to go for the two ply. I think it came out well, not muddy (mostly luck I’m sure!). It’s so SQUISHY isn’t it? :)

Gorgeous spinning! I’m curious to see Drops. It looks like it could work up very large.

Cast on during Lost?
You brave soul!
I hope your sweater works out. There is so much time and energy invested in a knit it’s terrible when there are fit issues at the very end!
