I feel so naked today

Can you believe I left the house without my lipsticks?  I have a little purple silk pouch I got for $1 at World Market that contains my essentials:  Lancome dual finish compact, two Revlon Colorstay lipsticks, Burt’s Bees lip balm and a tiny tube of L’Occitaine hand cream.  I left it at home.  The whole kitten kaboodle.  How will I ever make it through the day?  Shouldn’t I be able to declare a wardrobe emergency and run home to get it?  One would think so.

To make up for the fact that I did not take pictures of Gifts Nos. Two and Three – hey, it was late and I was in a finishing/wrapping frenzy – I give you the humble beginnings of a handspun mitten.

A little more than the beginning, actually.  It’s the Peekaboo Mittens from Magknits and the pattern is written for two different gauges, so it’s great for handspun.

The palm opening will make digging in my purse for things (like my LIPSTICK!) so much easier to manage!

And also the flippin’ of the bird (discreet, even!).

How about a close-up of some handspun goodness?

Mmmmmm…that green stripe in the middle just makes me happy!  I’m not one to make a lot of resolutions cause I just don’t keep them and then I feel bad, but I DO resolve to knit more with handspun next year.

If I don’t talk to you guys before then – have a very happy holiday!  I wish you blessings and peace and goodwill towards mankind!

    Teehee!
I HATE it when I don’t have my lipstick. I usually have an “emergency” tube at work.

Mmm, I love the Burt’s Bees lipgloss! Can you believe I’ve got one in my purse, one in my satchel for school, and one in my makeup bag at home? I’m a little addicted. That mitten rocks!

Very cheery, gorgeous mittens! I thought for a second they looked kinda small, but then I remembered you have wee fairy hands. ;)

The mitten is beautiful. Isn’t knitting with handspun wonderful?! You just can’t get that look from commercial yarn. The colors are great. Did you spin it yourself?

Oh yes, you always want to be discreet when making Rude Gestures at Offensive People (I am going to have the giggles for the rest of the day over that).
