first things first

Go wish my friend Maryse Happy Birthday! Or Joyeux Anniversaire, cause she’s French, ya know! Besides being French, she’s very sweet, takes incredible photographs and her cat and mine are twins. It’s too bad she lives a bazillion miles away. I’d stalk her and make her be my friend.
I found the perfect buttons!
Aren’t they gorgeous? They’re leather, they match perfectly, and I got my boss an extra one just in case. I found them at In the Making, which just got in a shipment of Koigu, are now open 7 days a week (so those Sunday knitting emergencies that don’t get resolved until the LYS opens on Tuesday are NO MORE!) and have the most helpful staff. The owner, Donna, is a doll too. I think they are officially my LYS of choice.
Want to see a full shot? Sure you do!
Love it! I used one skein of Handmaiden 4 ply cashmere and had less than a yard to spare after sewing on the buttons. I really like the way the colors pooled in a plaid-ish pattern. I’ll try to get a modeled shot when I gift it tomorrow.
The Maine Morning Mitts only lack thumbs and I have a couple of bought presents (shudder) to wrap up and then I’ll be done with the attorney gifts!

It looks great and the buttons are perfect! The way the colors pooled make me think of backgammon. You know, I should’ve thought of this yesterday, but Lee W. probably knows somewhere you can get a homebrew kit.

Oh god, those are gorgeous! I love the colors of the scarf…absolutely luxurious.
I think those mitts will be perfect to make for #2 out of some handspun alpaca. Thanks for the link!
