not enough contrast

What do you think?

I think the cuff looks fine other than the lumpy purl bumps, which got worse as I consciously paid attention to my tension.  ???  I think the design is getting lost in the yarn.  LOVE the braid, but again, I don’t think the colors pop like they should.

Would you rip it, or soldier on?

If you don’t think it’s working then rip. If you want subtle then it looks great!

I likes it, myself, but then again, those are two of my favoritest colors in the world (I think I say that about everything you make) so I would keep going.

Personally, I love the colors and level of contrast. But if it isn’t what you are looking for then rip.

It’s pretty subtle, so if you like subtle, stay with it.

I’m more of a contrast-y gal myself, though.

I think it’s lovely but subtle works for me.

    Rip, rip, baby.

I like it for subtle, but if you are looking for it to pop then rip and try some other colors.

I’d say if it’s not working for you, then rip it. That’s the whole point of designing something for yourself, right? So it will be perfect for *you*.

I really like your colors and the subtl-er contrast – especially in the corrugated ribbing. I’m eyeballing the chart, maybe it’s a case of the design wanting a little more contrast, or the colors wanting a simpler design? I’ve struggled with the whole color balance/theory stuff a lot lately on different projects. Someone suggested to me to put a photo of some colorwork swatches I was doing into grayscale to see the contrast, I’ll try to find the article on that…

In any case, if you aren’t happy, it’s worth the rip – but I am looking forward to seeing where this is going! :)

Oh MAN…..I know you hate to rip….but if it is going to bug you would be better to rip now….UGH!!! I do like the color combination.

I like it. Blocking may help the texture and I happen to like subtle.

I like it. But the real question is do you like it? If you’re not sure, then I would suggest ripping it.

Ok, sorry, but I’m all for that color combo. No question. It works, keep at it. (And yeah, I hate to rip, what of it?)

Well I like it – but what do you think?

How did you make that braided section??!

You are right; the colors don’t pop. I would rip it and try a different color combination.

    Love the subtle.

Personally, I’m not feeling the love but then, those aren’t my colors. I go for brighter
colors. The patterning is nice but there’s not enough contrast between the two colors to make
the pattern pop. It boils down though to how much you like it. I’d say if you’re in doubt
enough to ask us, frog it and start again with colors that contrast more.

Maybe not enough contrast, but a wonderful color combination!
