fancy gentleman’s socks

I finished SB’s socks over Thanksgiving and he modeled them for me yesterday.

I did not pose him like this.  He instinctively struck this pose.  He claims to have dancer’s feet and I’m inclined to agree.

This pattern has an unusual heel – it’s all stockinette except for one purl ridge.  Looks neat, but we’ll see how it wears.

SB is very happy with them, and I’m very happy to have them done!  I believe I have enough yarn leftover (Lorna’s Laces in the Baltic Sea colorway) to make a pair of short socks for me.

I liked knitting with the Lorna’s.  Seems like knitters either love it or hate it, but I found it to be a sturdy yarn that still had enough spring to it that it wasn’t unpleasant to knit with.

I’ve been back at the wheel and loving it.  Did you know that Bob Dylan is excellent music to spin to?  Particularly Time Out of Mind.  I need to turn off the tv and turn on the stereo more often.

P.S.  I fixed my camera!  Hopefully the fix will last.

I love the socks! I’ll have to remember that colorway. I’m a big Lorna’s Laces fan.

Nice socks! I like those a lot. I’ve seen them all over and they look so much different depending on the yarn choice. I wonder what that purl column is supposed to be? Mimicking a seam or something?

Love the socks! Nice job. It’s too bad we live so far away from each other – I’m always looking for spinning buddies. :-)

Those are some very handsome socks! Lucky SB – my poor hub has yet to benefite from some great handknitting with the exception of a poorly constructed hat that he received about a week after I started knitting – tsk! Selfish knitter I am!!

And lovely spinning too, yum :)

I’m sorry, but I’m going to reserve judgement until I see him dance.
