lamest blog post ever

Really makes you want to read on, doesn’t it?

First off, THANK YOU to everyone for the birthday wishes!  Wow!  I had a great birthday, SB took me to dinner at Taj India, one of our favorite restaurants, I had chocolate cake at the office, and my present is a new car stereo that I’m getting installed tomorrow!  Yes, I’m having a juvenile moment.  I need my tunes.  My cd changer suddenly quit on me two?three? years ago (it’s still holding five cds hostage) and I’ve been subjected to the radio ever since.  It’s about time I got my music back!

Now then.  You’re about to find out why this is the lamest blog post ever.  How about some project updates?

This is some alpaca I got at SAFF.  Here’s what it looks like spun up as a two-ply:

Here’s the scarf I’m knitting for my daughter – only four more pattern repeats!

Here’s the sock I started in Indiana and later frogged because of the crazy pooling:

It’s Dave’s Ridges and Ribs pattern, and I’m utilizing Shannon‘s “modification“.  Going up to a size 1 needle for the leg stopped the pooling and the pattern is coming out great!  Check it out:

Are you sensing a theme here?  Yah, I broke my camera.  Maybe I just maimed it a little; it’s undetermined whether it’s fixable or not.  Something crazy happened when I was taking the Notre Dame de Grace pictures (like it fell off the buffet onto the hardwood floor) and now every time I hit the menu bar, it scrolls through pictures and menus without me even touching it.  It could be possessed.  If I even act like I’m going to access the menu bar, it starts flipping through photos like an 8th grader with their new yearbook looking for their own picture.

Hopefully I’ll get it fixed today and it’ll be something as simple as a new battery.  Then again, I have been wanting a new camera for awhile….but that would seriously cut into my fiber budget.  And I think it’s the time of year to buy presents for OTHERS or something crazy like that.  In the meantime, I’ll leave you with this:

This cat has the life, I’m tellin ya.  btw – we’ve totally ignored the Cat Leash Laws, as have the rest of our neighbors with kitties, and so far, so good.  He sleeps all day and he plays all night.

Have a great weekend!  If you go out shopping, drink lots of water!  It’ll keep you hydrated and yes, you’ll have to make more pit stops but look at it as more opportunities to SIT DOWN and REST.  Maybe even catch a cat nap.  When you get home, of course.  Not in the bathroom stall at Macy’s.  That would just be gross.

Heh, when we tried putting harnesses on our cats (to see if they wanted a trip outside), they just sort of fell over and wouldn’t move. I’d love to see someone try to walk a cat. I really want them to have a screen porch, but right now they have to settle for open windows and occasional fun in the garage (the highway is Right There and there is a feral colony in the pecan orchard so they are all kept inside by my neurotic self). This really belonged on the other post (stupid, hateful neighbor), but I am late to the party. :D

What sock yarn is that? I’m currently coveting it.

The people who made the laws have not tried to walk a cat, right? I like the sock yarn. Naps in restrooms, hmm?

Oh I hope that they can fix your camera. That sucks.

I really like the socks. Sometimes pooling is fun.

How did you know I was going to Macy’s tomorrow? I’ll make sure I’m very well rested… and I go before I leave the house. Just in case.

Cats really have it made, don’t they? A pool of sunshine and they are in heaven

Glad the stupid leash law isn’t forcing you to keep your cat indoors…..the neighborhood needs cats on “watch” for all the various “invaders” of the night!!! LOL!!

Sorry about your camera……and why can’t things break when there is extra money sitting around???? UGH!!
