Title? I don’t need no stinkin title!

Which translates to:  I can’t think of one!

The trip home was pleasant and uneventful for the most part; The Evil One (my mom’s husband) only stormed out of the house once.  I met my quota!  Not really.  I wish we all got along, but he’s such a narrow-minded, devisive, manipulative, “other” hating person that it’s difficult.  Enough said.

The best part of the trip was spending time with my sis!

Here she is, wearing the scarf I made her.  Or rather, the scarf I made myself using this handspun, but can’t wear because it’s too orange overall.

It looks great on her, though!  I used the multi-directional diagonal scarf pattern, size US 10.5 needles and about 250 yards of heavy worsted (I’m guessing here) handspun.  I modified the decreases from SSK to P2tog on the wrong side so there would BE a wrong side, otherwise, the line of decreases was bulky on both sides and my modification made the decreases bulky on just one side, if that makes sense at all.  Very easy pattern, very quick knit and I’m glad she likes it!

I also finished SB’s socks but don’t have pictures yet because of Daylight Savings Time.  And I finished all the pieces of my sweater!

They’re ready for a good blocking and then assembly!  But…I’m not sure I’m going to block them.  Sacrilege, I know.  If the measurements are what they’re supposed to be, I might just seam them as-is since it’s double moss stitch which lies flat anyway.  And I’m impatient.

The baby surprise jacket, which was first on my to-do list, just didn’t work out.  I cast on on the drive to Indiana and knit six hours on the thing, thanks to my trusty headlamp, before I realized that my gauge was way off and it was big enough to fit a two year old.  Riiiipppp!  Saturday while we were watching the game, I cast on again, this time for a Tomten Jacket, and got several inches into it before I realized I was NOT going to have enough yarn and it’s handspun and I can’t buy more of the fiber.  So.  A trip to the local yarn store for a new project was in order!

Here’s a sneak peek.

Oh, and let me just say?  I am SO glad November is almost over.  All this NaBloPoMo stuff is making my eyes twitch.  I can’t read all these entries!  I hate to be a skimmer, but I may have to resort to that.  Just a few more days….

Ha, glad you’re back – I was about to call out the dogs. (But then I would have had to go check and make sure I didn’t miss an entry when, after Thanksgiving, I used the magic “mark all as read” button on my reader.)
I think skimming is expected during November.

I love it that the yarn is Frog Tree. Just hope it doesn’t jinx anything :)

So one doesn’t have to make the multi-directional scarf in fingering weight yarn? Then I might make one someday…

I can’t believe it’s possible to look even more ridiculous than I usually do, but alas, it is. What a goob.
I can’t wait to see your sweater, and think blocking is for sissies. Not really, but it’s all about making you feel better about it.

I am so with you on NaBloPoMo…it is tiring! But it’s fun trying to find something to say everyday (although sometimes with less than desirable results!) thanks for turning me on to the bowls ;-) and StatCounter, btw – gotta love Stumble)

The scarf looks great on your sister. I am sure she loves it.

I can’t wait to see your sweater all put together.

Glad that you had a good Thanksgiving despite the temper tantrum from the Evil One.

You won’t have to skim my blog…my entries are so short lately, if you blink, you’ll miss ‘em. Your sister is pretty, and let me know how the Tomten goes. I have the pattern and was thinking of trying it. I think Brooklyn Tweed did an adult version.

I’m afraid I’ve been skimming the past couple weeks. :(

    Oh! Frog Tree! Soft!
