Rhinebeck

You guys didn’t know I went to Rhinebeck, did you?

Okay, well, *I* didn’t actually go, just a bit of my money did, and thanks to the kindness of a fellow wool fiend, my spoils arrived today!  I didn’t show off my SAFF purchases so I’ll make up for that now.  ;o)

This is a lovely bump of corriedale/silk blend from somewhere I can’t remember as I was in such a frenzy hurry to look at the rest of the loot.  It was hard to capture the deep red color (and not show the mess on my dining room table), but this is pretty close.  *sigh*

These are two packages of romney wool from Fantom Farms, whose fibers I’ve coveted awhile, thanks to Adrian.  I’ve never spun romney so I’m excited to see how it is to work with and off the top of my head, I’m thinking fair isle gloves with this.

The big white bag in the first pic is a cormo/silk blend from Foxfire Fibers, which is another vendor I’ve seen a lot of and heard good things about.  Another new-to-me fiber!

My shopper friend could not have done a better job.  I would’ve been hard pressed to find anything I liked more!  The colors she picked are perfect and the natural fibers…ahhhh!

I’ve saved the best for last.  Check out these incredible batts from Barneswallow Farm.

These might be too soft to spin.  I might just have to stuff my bra with them.

Would you blame me?

I came home with Barnswallow batts last year and ‘almost’ had someone pick up more. I’ll buy with my own hands next year. They are so wonderful to spin! Do you think there is anything better than cormo/silk blend? Lucky grrl!

You lucky, lucky girl! The October Fiber from the Spunky Club (Goblin Eyes) was Romney. Not the softest wool but very fun to spin.

Hmmm, now I see why I am glad I don’t spin. I don’t have room for yarn, let alone a wheel and fiber. BTW, already had to add more satellite channels. I couldn’t see Knitty Gritty. I learned how to change the channel. The DVR is next.

Ahh! The very thought is making me itch!
Probably because I was spinning last night and either the wash or the dye used on the roving was making me feel kind of choky and itchy so the thought of it in my bra…ughh.

    Gorgeous, gorgeous roving. Mmmmm

Lovely! Cormo is one of my favorite wools – a combination of Cormo and silk…? Oh, my! Enjoy!

You know that famous Demi Moore scene from Indecent Proposal where she is rolling around naked in a bed of hundred dollar bills. Sometimes I feel like doing that with my fiber.
