things I like

Today’s version of Things I Like is inspired by Carole, whose recent post showed things around her house that make her happy.
What about you? What things around your house give you a sense of warmth and bring a little smile to your face when you see them? If you post pics, let me know, I’d love to see them!
The great zipper search continues. I’m starting to think that maybe I don’t need a zipper in this cardi. Meanwhile, I’ve almost finished the body on the stripey-tweedy sweater (upper right corner of the montage). The current shape reminds me of a potato sack, a pretty potato sack, but a potato sack nonetheless. I’m trying to decide if I’m alright with Stripey-Tweedy being a comfy, lounge-around-the-house kind of sweater. I have a few more inches before starting the sleeves and I think I’ll try it on again then and see what I think.
Thanks to everyone for the steeking support! It was actually quite liberating. My knitting bosses me around so much of the time, it was nice to get a little “hand” back! It’s important to have hand, you know. ;o)

Nice! I do love a potato sack style sweater for lounging, especially in that lovely color. (Those lovely colors?)

Wow, you’re really cruising along on the stripey sweater, aren’t you? I hope that it fits when you try it on. Ripping out those cute stripes would be a shame.
As for the zipper, have you tried Zipperstop? I know it’s a pain to wait for it to arrive, but you can order just about every color imaginable, and they come in a big variety of lengths. I always get my zippers from them. The color card is also a worthwhile investment.

Thank you for sharing, it is great to step into someone elses home.
Unfortunately, mine is still the land of the reigning dustbunnies.
Love the sunlight shots. :D
