sidetracked

I know I said I was going to get right back on my SAFF sweater challenge this week.

But I was sooo curious to see how this BFL I dyed would spin up that I couldn’t resist it.

I spun 4 of the 8 ounces I’d dyed and started to ply it using the chained singles method (opens pdf), but I couldn’t stop noticing how pretty the singles were as they slid through my hands.  I started thinking how lovely the colors would knit up in a lace pattern.  The overall color is a silvery-grey, but close-up there are sections of light pink, dark grey and soft white.

So I broke off the yarn and wrapped the singles around my niddy noddy.

I think I made the right decision.

I think it’s lovely, whether chain plied or singles. Can’t wait to see what you make with it (after the SAFF sweater, of course!)

You made the right decision. You have ages until the end of October and you need to enjoy the sweater, which you wouldn’t do if you forced yourself to work on it while your cheating heart thought about the BFL!

That top picture is so yummy I could eat it. The singles look like heaven-totally the right decision. Now you have something else to spur you into finishing your SAFF sweater.
