I got tagged!

The box arrived today from my Dish Rag Tag team, the Happy Yarn Hags!
I am the last person on the list to receive the box, and it was really cool to open it up and see the messages from all over the country
But it was even cooler to see the dishrag and surprises Mary sent!
Thank you, Mary! I’ve been wanting a sheepy measuring tape FOREVER but wouldn’t justify the purchase to myself (isn’t that silly?). You can tell how badly I needed one by taking a look at what I was using:
A product sample from SB’s office. There’s just no comparison!
The dish cloth (it’s too pretty to call a rag) Mary made is really awesome too, and I’m not quite sure where my Chibi is so an extra one is always good to have!
Even though another team has won, I’m still glad I signed up for this swap. It’s been a lot of fun tracking the boxes and getting to know my teammates. I have cast on for my dish rag (although I haven’t gotten very far – only an hour for lunch, you know) and hope it goes pretty quickly.
In other news: the loonies are alive and well in Birmingham, Alabama. On my way back to the office I saw a woman boarding a city bus wearing shorts, a tank top and a COONSKIN CAP.

Was she knitting? Of course not, knitters are not crazy like that. Crazy maybe, but not like that.

Coonskin cap? That’s pretty good. It might be better than our TWO local fake general lee vehicles. One is a pickup truck painted like it, the other is a dune buggy. And the guys who drive them aren’t embarassed at all. I often wonder how this small town can have room for two, and I’d love to know if they resent one another. Still, though, coon. skin. cap. Wonderful.
