Finally!!!

Friday’s finally here! Woohoo! I have so many things to be happy about, I’m gonna make a list!
1. My daughter’s graduating college tonight!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, it does deserve that many exclamation points! She’s a chemistry major – graduating summa cum laude with several other top honors! Yes, I’m bragging, but I think I’m entitled. I’ll post pictures if she’s agreeable. It’s been a long and arduous road getting here, but I am so proud of her. She deserves nothing but good things!
2. My mom, aunt, sister and niece are coming down from Indiana for the graduation! I love my family. I complain about them at times (don’t we all?) but there’s nothing like spending time with people who’ve known you your whole life. It’s like being surrounded by home.
3. I finished plying what I hope is the last of the brown two-ply for my sweater last night! The second humongous skein was 430 yards, or as SB remarked, “longer than a football field.” I haven’t wound off the third skein yet, but I’m guessing I have about 1200 yards of brown total and probably 350-400 of the red (singles spun, not plied yet).
Here are some of the visions that danced through my head while I was spinning and spinning and spinning….
I like all these yoke designs, all but one are from Lopi pattern books. Depending on how much yardage I get with the red, I may fashion a yoke similar to Cassie’s Voodoo. I love her adaptation of a classic design using two colors – traditional yet contemporary. Very cool.
Next week – let the swatching begin! In the meantime, have a FABULOUS weekend!

Congrats to your daughter! That’s quite an accomplishment. Exclaim on, she deserves it!
Good work on the spinning, too, that’s a load. Cassie’s sweater is very nice, too – I don’t do much colorwork (I’m a texture girl, myself) but I will be interested to watch your progress.
