If you need me, I’ll be in the doldrums

Anyone else feeling like they’re knitting/spinning/hooking/crafting to beat the band, but have nothing to show for it?

What’s worse – everything I’ve been working on is registering bleh on my radar, right below meh but ahead of ugh.  What I want to knit is a huge, soft, wooly scarf in gorgeous colors with an interesting stitch pattern – one that looks more difficult than it really is – a scarf that will coordinate fabulously with my winter jackets.  And then I want to wear this fabulous scarf, outside in cold weather, wrapped around my neck and against my ears to protect them from the blustery wind.

*sigh*

Not for many months, I’m afraid.

I know you shouldn’t wish your life away, but I’m ready to go to SAFF!  I think I’m going to forgo spinning classes in favor of a natural dye class.  I’d take both but I don’t want to spend all of Saturday in classes.  There will be wool to buy!  And bloggers to hang out with!

Ah well.  I hope to finish up a small project tonight and post pictures of it tomorrow, as well as pictures of the ugliest yarn since the creation of time.  I know you’re all dying to see THAT!!!  Ha.  I hope you’re feeling more love for your projects than I am!

The blahs seem to be going around. It’s like a blogland disease.Though it might be due to the drought. It’s hard to tell.

Yeah. I think if we were to do some research and look back at our favorite blogs this time last year, we’d see the doldrums then too. Let’s face it, knitting is more often associated with cooler weather. (Like activity, brain function, etc.) I posted about the same thing today and have seen several other blogs on the same subject.

yes, Yes YES! I am so ready for SAFF as well! I haven’t been able to decide on any classes yet though. I’ve never dyed anything so I thought the dyeing without making stripes class looked fun. We shall see. Are you meeting up with Jen from Jenla at any time? I put my name (and a friends) down on the list to party ;)

YES! I even shifted gears from my interminable project on itty bitty needles, to a big needle project (you know you’re pathetic when your big needle project is on size 3 needles, right?) but that’s not done either; and I’ve had no luck with one set of fiber, dyeing; and I’ve been blending and blending and dyeing and dyeing and I just feel like… nothing is happening. I’ve gotta get new inventory up for sale too, and I’m already into the next round of batt club production, and I just feel like *nothing* is getting done. Nothing.

Hey, if I wanted to do a big fat scarf, I’d do it! I hear you re doing a lot but having nothing to show for it. Seems like everything I undertake these days is a slow knit.

    I’m ready for SAFF too.

That fiber fair looks like so much fun – I’m envious!
I actually just started knitting a big fat fluffy scarf – what’s stopping you?

Bleh yourself. I know whereof you speak. The hot weather here today made me take a nap. Not even enough energy to go swimming.

I think the doldrums are directly related to the weather. It seems like every summer knitters post about their lack of desire to knit. It’s hard to get yourself motivated to sit down with a lap full of wool when it’s blazing hot outside!
