Focused, I tell you! Focused!!!

I have to be focused, and let me show you why.  Look what arrived in the mail yesterday from Abby.

This is what I saw when I first unfolded the batt.

Then I saw this.

Then I unfolded it all the way and saw this.  Couldn’t you just EAT it?!?!  She said she was sending me something to ply with the October Woods tussah silk and boy did she ever!  Thank you, Abby!!!  This stuff is just as soft as it is pretty and it’ll be amazing with the silk.  I’m just beside myself!  And itching to spin it.  You know, I haven’t touched my wheel since last week.  Rosalita and I are going to have to catch up – soon!

Here’s another plug because dang it, she’s just that good.  I know not everyone out there is a spinner and the pictures of roving might make you go, ‘yeah, it’s nice, but what am I going to do with it?’  Well, Abby sells her handspun yarn too.  Apparently she’s moved past the codependent relationship my yarn and I are currently enjoying.  While I’ve never seen her yarn in real-life, from the pictures on her blog, and the beautiful colors and quality of her blends, I’d bet money* that Abby’s yarns are just as fabulous.  So if you want some of this gorgeousness for yourself and you don’t spin, that’s an option you may want to check out.

My first Tamale Pie sock is this close to being finished!  I knit all through lunch, hoping to have a finished sock for you, but no.  Tonight I’ll finish it and cast on for the second one if I can resist the lure of the wheel.

Tomorrow is the last day of week two of Boot Camp!  My energy level is better than it’s been in over a year.  Seriously.  I had to take a file to another floor this morning and I used the stairs!!!  Both ways!!!  Habit made me put my keycard in my pants pocket and then I thought, why?  It’s just a couple flights of stairs and every little bit helps.  I know it’s a small victory, but small victories win the war.  Right?  Right!

*That’s a Mom-ism.  I always wondered what else she would bet if not money?  This is my MOM, y’all.  She’s not going to be playing strip poker.  And if she is…I don’t want to know about it!

I still haven’t bought anything from her but I’m always tempted. I even think she lives fairly close to me.

Look at that Abby trying to steal your focus!! What kind of friend is that, I ask!? hehe Fiber. It is my nemesis. Or maybe is the nemesis of laundry and dishes.

Congratulations on taking the STAIRS! WooHoo for YOU! I have to take the stairs at our church and went up and down at least four times on Wednesday night. It really tuckered me out! There is an elevator but I think they have a rule that you must be at least 105 yrs old to use it.

I’m not a spinner yet, but I want to be one. The last picture of your roving is spectacular! I’m burning to see it spun! Go get your wheel, girl!

Yeah. Gotta see this stuff spun and, more importantly, knit up. Can’t wait to see:)
