one to go!
At this rate, I won’t have finished yarn until next week, but it’ll be well worth the wait, I suspect.
Meanwhile, check out the pretty roving I dyed on Sunday!
8 oz. Corriedale, a GIFT from Mary, the woman I bought Rosalita from. It just arrived in the mail one day. How cool is that? This is SOOOO soft; I can’t wait to spin it!
4 oz. Coop (? I think?) SB says this is my easter egg roving but it looks more like jelly beans to me.
It’s SPRING! Spring has sprung!!! Hurrah!!!
This redbud was blooming outside my son’s orthodontist’s office this morning:
And this Bradford Pear was blooming beside the parking deck at my doctor’s office:
The lab tech who took my blood (I didn’t even feel the needle, she was awesome!) noticed our street address and mentioned that she loves the pear trees blooming along Crestwood Boulevard, the main road near our house, especially since the City of Vestavia CUT ALL THEIRS DOWN because they were a traffic hazard. Even worse – they replaced them with concrete barriers. So, if you’re involved in a fender bender in Vestavia and are pushed into the median, instead of hitting a pear tree, you’ll hit a concrete barrier. Go figure.
Oh yes! Go wish Tonni a Happy Birthday!!!

I love my sis…she’s so talented :) I think the jelly bean stuff actually has the colors of a Monet painting – Waterlilies or something, maybe? But jelly beans are good too.

What is the fiber you are spinning. It is delicious! I love the heathered colors. Nice spinning too.

Your yarn is just bautiful as well as the roving you dyed. We have had beautiful weather this week and it looks like more of the same to come.

Hey, thanks so much for the visit! I was actually pretty surprised to have a comment since I just got everything set up on my blog completely yesterday. Hopefully we will both see our wee socks make it to their destination tomorrow. I can’t imagine what the anticipation would be like if it was a FULL pair of socks! Sorry I’ve been a lurker on your blog up until now. I have been enjoying seeing your spinning, dying, the weaving, etc. I took 2 semesters of loom weaving in college so weaving really interests me. I’m not at a place where I can have a loom right now, but I enjoyed it very much! My family also really likes to do something called geocaching. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of it or not. It’s basically a high-tech treasure hunt, using a hand held global positioning system. Well.. we do a lot of hiking on some of the geocaches too. Hope you are having a nice day!

Those singles are so pretty, and I can’t wait to see how that roving spins up! I’m still trying to learn how to dye to get the yarn I’m hoping for in the end – usually the singles I spin look great, but then I’m not so happy with how they ply… any words of advise?
