Tamale Pie, part of my order from Franquemont Fibers.  Abby does a beautiful job of combining different fibers and colors.  This is superwash wool, silk and BFL.

Please pardon my dry hands!  I’m trying to spin this slowly and with intent.  My intent, and I may be completely fooling myself here, is to spin one batt per bobbin and then make the yarn a three ply.  I’m tearing off pencil-sized strips of fiber, two purple, two red, two gold.  I’m not weighing them and I know there will be some overlap of colors when I ply them, but as long as the colors aren’t muddied, I’ll be happy.  I don’t mind a bit of stripe/tweediness in my yarn, especially when the colors are as complimentary as these.

I only hope the final product will be a testament to how gorgeous this fiber is!  This isn’t the only fiber purchase I made, but I spent most of my lunch hour spinning that little bit on the bobbin…very….slowly….(with intent)….and ran out of time to photograph the rest.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
