If you finish a WIP in a new year, does that count as a FO for that year?

Just wondering, because I finished my sister’s Fetching mitts last week (wove in the ends Friday night) and gifted them without a picture (bad blogger).
I did, however, take a picture of my niece’s ipod cozy that I knit (correctly – my FIRST correctly-knit item!) Friday night and Saturday morning.
My own pattern, I cast on 24 stitches, did K3, P1 ribbing for about six rows, then knit until it was 9″ long (she has a video ipod - the child is so technologically-gifted that I feel like a Quaker around her), did six more rows of ribbing, them seamed it using a three needle bind-off. It holds her ipod and ear thingys perfectly!
I have other pictures, trip observations and even more knitting to show, but I’ve come back to a swamped desk and my left eye is twitching so I’ll have to save that for next time.
It’s good to be home.

Very cute iPod cozy! Did you make it from some of your own yarn? The colors are terrific.

Yes, any item finished this year count as FOs this year. I should know. I’ve had a few myself :))

The iPod cozy looks great! My daughter has one of those video iPod’s, too. She puts me to shame re: the electronic jungle.
