No Muppets were harmed*

Have you heard of this? I read about it on Sandy’s blog and thought, ‘I can do this.’ I didn’t get terribly far, but here’s the beginning of a fun fur hat that I hope a child will enjoy wearing.
C’mon, I bet you have some fun fur in your stash that needs bustin’ out!
*I know they‘ll be relieved.

And for the non-knitting portion of this post. Every year, Sgt. Britty’s mother gives us a box (or two) of Comice pears and havarti cheese from Pittman & Davis. We eat them plain, I make Parmesan Pear Risotto (I’ll post the recipe if anyone’s interested), and we make Pear Sammiches.
I start by toasting four slices of good bread – I like Big Sky Bread’s three grain loaf. As soon as it comes out of the toaster, throw on a slice of havarti and top with toasted walnuts.
Top with sliced pears and then lettuce. I use baby lettuces if they don’t want $112.35 per bag at the grocery.
Put your other piece of bread on top, give a pear sammich to your hubby, and then throw some Munchos on the plate to round it out.
Mmmmmm…..

That sandwich looks yummy. I’ll look into the fun fur thing. I have some left from a scarf but not sure if it’s enough. What did you decide about the cushion problem?

$112.35 for a bag of lettuce? Where on earth are you doing your grocery shopping?
The sammich looks delicious.

Sick…children…
Must…not…bitch…about…fuzzy…yarn…
Seriously, I’m going to need to wash my eyes out with soap before this is all done. And NO I do NOT have any lurking in my stash. I may have a dark, ancient and ugly history of fun fur but I’m clean and sober now.

I used to buy Comice pears when they were in season — omigod, biting into one was like eating heavenly flowers. Haven’t had one in years, but now I want a pear sammich. And there isn’t a Comice pear within 50 miles…
