Hey Kool-Aid!!!

A weekend report post will happen soon, but I’m on vacation this week and our ancient Mac at home doesn’t like my photo software. You can’t post a hiking/birthday weekend report without pictures, so for the time being, here’s a little fiber.

I dyed up 8 oz. of merino I bought from Little Barn at SAFF.  I didn’t saturate the roving enough the first time and it came out all pastels, which was okay I guess, but I was going more for jewel tones, so I dyed it again.  Didn’t take any pictures of the roving, but here it is on my bobbin:

And here it is skeined-up.

275 yards.  Not as evenly spun as I would have liked, but I’d been “off the wheel” for almost a week and it took a bit to get back into the rythym.  Also, double-dyeing made the merino hard to draft which required a LOT of prep work.  It’s okay, but I’m not ready to leave my husband for it or anything.

I’m calling it Blue Raspberry, in honor of Kool-Aid’s mistaken notion that raspberries are blue.
