By the time we make it to Barstow

Anyone like Gillian Welch and her uber-talented husband, Dave Rawlings?
They played at Zydeco last night, best $20 we’ve spent in a LONG time! (That does not include the copious amounts of alcohol – I was very thankful for ibuprofen this morning).
Check out his incredible guitar playing. This man is on the same level as Norman Blake and Earl Scruggs. He just wrings the music out of the guitar – breathtaking. Well damn. Our office spam filter has blocked youtube. Anyone know another way to upload vidoes? For now, I’ll give you more pictures.
I’d like to say I’m the skinny one on the left, but no. I’m really short, aren’t I? Short and fat, not a good combination. Bah. But happy! See how happy we all look! I know they’re thinking, ‘get this crazy knitting person away from us!’ I asked Dave if I could take a picture to put on my knitting blog and Gillian leaned over to Sgt. Britty and asked, “what’s a knitting blog?” I’ll have to send her a link.
Anyway, it was a fabulous, fabulous, fabulous show and I am so happy we went. To think – we almost stayed home and watched more episodes of Lost! If you have a chance to see David Rawlings – if you like bluegrass, Dylan, Springsteen, and Neil – don’t you miss it.
