10 degrees above normal

What is up with these temperatures???  The high today is going to be in the low 70s.  How on earth is a knitter supposed to show off her handknits when it’s hot as freakin Hades outside?  Are we in the South doomed to knit only socks?

I’m sorry, but there is just something wrong with shopping for a Christmas tree while wearing shorts.  Not that I’m buying my tree anytime soon.  I have a strict Not Before My Birthday rule.  The holidays come around way too fast thanks to eager retailers and I’m the sort who leaves her tree up through New Year’s.  And then I tell Sgt. Britty to put it by the back fence because I’m going to cut it up and use it for mulch, but instead I let it decompose out there.  Hey, it’s mulching the grass.

NPR ran a story this morning on A Charlie Brown Christmas, which will be aired tonight.  Apparently, the network didn’t like the show when it was created and almost didn’t run it because they thought the topics of materialism and religion were too deep for younger viewers.  I know it’s not Wednesday, but WTF?  I’ve always loved this show.  I’m not overly religious, but when Linus starts telling Charlie Brown the true meaning of Christmas, I well up.  It might take some convincing of the ManCub, but I fully intend to watch it tonight because it never fails to get me in the Christmas spirit.  Maybe I’ll even break out the eggnog.  Straight up for the boy, and with a wee bit of rum for yours truly.

Oh we are experiencing some low 80′s here right now. :-D

And can it be Christmas without “A Charlie Brown Christmas”? When I was younger, I was oblivious to the undertones in this seasonal cartoon. It was just ENJOYABLE.

If there was a Charlie Brown cartoon on tv, I was glued to the set until it was over. End of story.

My birthday is Dec 20th, I can’t wait that long to put my tree up. But I like to have my tree up through New Years’s too.

high seventies here. i like it. i so enjoy the four seasons that my part of the south has, but, then too, i’d so love it being 70 year round. that’s perfect. let’s enjoy while we can. never know what tricky mother nature will blow our way!
