What better way to spend a rainy Wednesday than driving to Toney, Alabama with a very nice enabler spinner and test driving wheels?  And well, if one follows you home, you have to give it a proper welcome, right?

Pretty colors, not quite as bright in real life but the weather is still crappy today so no good natural light for yarn p0rn photo shoots!

I was up past 11:00 last night, spinning and plying and playing with my wheel.  It spins GREAT!  Of course I’m figuring out how things work and haven’t done much playing around with different ratios, etc.  Right now I’m just getting the feel for how it spins and what the best ergonomics will be, i.e., lounging in a comfy chair feels great for an hour or so and then my drafting hand starts screaming.  A straight-back wooden chair is friendlier.  Wine or another calming beverage helps to relax you.  Last night it was Dickel and Diet Coke, since I was suffering from sticker shock and still not quite believing that I bought a wheel.  That’s a lot of money for a hobby, and as someone who is used to buying only the essentials for herself, I’m fighting the pangs of extravagant-spending guilt.  But you know, I may never buy yarn again!  So really, it’s saving  me money!

I started a new bobbin this morning.

I’m so jealous you have a wheel, but happy for you too! The yarn looks very awesome.

Where’s Toney? There is now an LYS in Jacksonville, AL, that actually has Majacraft wheels. Have fun!
