Happy birthday, Suzanne!

Today is my pal Suzanne’s birthday!  Here she is, looking lovely:

Isn’t she pretty?  Don’t the flowers kinda look like candles glowing?  One of the smartest people with one of the largest hearts that I know, too. 

Has anyone looked at the patterns in the Fall issue of Vogue Knitting?  Check these out:

 

I love this sweater!  And these socks!

   

I mean, check out the way the stripes go across the instep in the first pic!  Tres cool!  The blue ones are really nice too, looks like a squared off version of the shell pattern in Child’s First Socks. 

Which – I’m still working on.  No progress pics because well, I’ve been playing around with some Lorna’s Laces Bullfrogs and Butterflies I bought in Indiana with the idea of making a scarf.  I started two different stitch patterns last night, am unhappy with both of the, but have found another one to try. 

Yes, another accessory.  I wonder WHEN I’m going to move beyond accessories.  Maybe when I lose weight, because ya know.  I can’t get excited about knitting something that looks great on waifish models but would look like ass on me.  So.  Until then, it’s socks, scarves, socks, mittens, more socks, gloves, socks and felted bags.  Oh yeah, and socks hats. Lots and lots of hats.
