Handy dandy knit bags

I’m sure you guys have seen these, right?
GoKnit pouches. Very cool, but also $20 for a nylon bag. That’s money that I – personally – would rather spend on yarn to put IN that little nylon bag. So I went this route:
That’s a little “ditty” bag I got at Alabama Outdoors (not my favorite outdoor outfitter, but the nearest when this brainstorm struck). Total cost: $3.99 + tax. It holds a two page pattern, a ball of sock yarn, and the current sock-in-progress. It doesn’t have an inside loop for the yarn to feed through, but it’s lightweight and very portable. Plus, cheap!
Child’s First Sock by Nancy Bush in Knitting Vintage Socks. I didn’t intentionally knit this in the same color as in the book, but I really, really love it! VERY cool shell pattern, easy to memorize and I’m just rocking along on these.

I wouldn’t have spent 20 bucks on a nylon sack either. I love the socks!

You go with your save $$ self. I like to do the same thing! My knitter’s basket? Less than 18 euros at the open market. Those things run for three times that elsewhere.
The socks are fab! Beautiful color.

Very cool idea. Way better than the ziplocs I’ve been using. I may just ahve to find a few of these, or better yet, use up some of my fabric stash and make them…

Hey! Thanks for the comment. Nice sock! I just got that book this week. That sock kind of scares me cause it looks similar to Pomatomus.
